Prayer Fellowship Booklets
Prayer is at the heart of a living relationship with God. Prayer is the spiritual life of the Church. There are five parts to prayer: praise, thanksgiving, penitence, intercessory and personal.
We are indebted to Maureen Atkinson and Margaret Grant who have kindly updated our Prayers Fellowship Booklet which will help us in our prayers on a daily basis. Maureen and Margaret have worked very hard on this booklet. I hope you will all take one and use it as an aid for your daily intercessory prayer, praying for each other and various aspects of our life together as the Body of Christ.

Christingle
We are looking forward to seeing you at our Christingle Service in St Mary’s on Sunday 9th December at 4.30pm. Cardboard candles and envelopes for collecting money are now available. The money collected goes to The Church of England Children’s Society for their work with disadvantaged children. Your involvement will enable the Society to provide vital help and support for those children who face the greatest danger, discrimination or disadvantage in their daily lives; children who are unable to find the help and support they need anywhere else. Please help to shine a light into the darkness of their lives.
We will be putting the Christingles together on Saturday 8th December from 9.30am in St Mary's and if you would like to help with this you will be most welcome.

St. Mary's Church WatchFrom the Rector"I have become increasingly aware that the Church is not open at expected times in the morning and afternoon. It is essential that the church is open morning and afternoon for the few visitors that come but more importantly for those people on occasions who wish to come in to spend time praying or to be quiet. There is nothing worse that approaching a church and finding that the door is locked. Would you please have a word with Margaret Porter who is responsible for the rota if you are willing to assist in this very important ministry of church watch." |

Please show your thanks for our plenty by helping those with nothing. Donate to Christian Aid's Darfur emergency appeal and help relieve the suffering. Gift Aid envelopes available. Harvest produce will be going to the North Dorset Women's Refuge. |

Church pathUnless you come into church via the North Door you cannot have failed to have noticed the revised access to the south door; a nice gentle slope with smaller grade stones and no step into the porch – our architect’s solution to disabled access that remains in keeping with our lovely ancient church. In no time at all when the grass has grown strangers will think it was always thus. On Sunday 12th August the path will be dedicated after the Eucharist - during the last hymn the servers, clergy and choir will process out of church and the congregation are asked to follow. |
