Visit of Bishop Dolli - Friday, 4th July

The Diocese of Salisbury is hosting Bishops from our link Province of the Sudan before the Lambeth Conference. We have been asked to host Bishop Dolli on a visit to our Parish of Saint Mary the Virgin, Gillingham on 4th July to meet ‘you - the people’ and to see something of Gillingham and the surrounding countryside.

The PCC has arranged the following programme and it is hoped as many of you as possible, including the parishioners of St. Simon and St. Jude, Milton-on-Stour will come and meet the Rt. Revd. Bullen Dolli of Lui Diocese from the Southern Sudan.

  • 12.00 noon – Holy Eucharist and tour of St. Mary’s Church (if the Bishop arrives in time for the regular Friday Eucharist).
  • 1.00 p.m. – Private lunch hosted by the Rev. Canon Alan and Margery Gill.
  • 2.30 p.m. – Out and about in Gillingham.
  • 5.00 p.m. – Evening Prayer.
  • 6.00 p.m. for 6.30 p.m. – Bring and Share Evening Meal (Rectory Garden if dry/VSR if wet).
  • 7.45 p.m. Bishop Dolli leaves for Shillingstone.

Please make every effort to be here for what we hope will be a memorable experience for all.
