The main activities in support of Christian Aid in Gillingham and the surrounding area are Lent lunches and Christian Aid Week activities, arranged by the Committee.
The existence of the Committee is not intended to prevent any individual or Church organising any event in support of Christian Aid - the permission of the Committee is not needed, though they would be interested to know of any events.

Meetings
There are usually 2 meetings each year, in January and June.
The next meeting is Thursday 7th January 2010 at 7.30 pm in the Gillingham Methodist Church lounge:

Area covered
The area covered is that of the Anglican Benefices of Gillingham with Milton-on-Stour and the Stour Vale Parishes. However, any other villages in the area are welcome to join in.
What you can do
- Come along to meetings - learn what tasks need extra helper.
- Spread the word about events.
- Organise events - look at the Christian Aid resources for ideas.

The Christian Aid website is full of ideas - in particular the page about resources for churches may help. Signing up to receive regular emails will keep you abreast of the latest campaigns / issues, etc.
Christian Aid also have a special area for teachers / youth leaders.
