Impressions of South Africa from a "Fair Trade" holiday
For I the Lord love justice, I hate robbery and wrongdoing. (Isaiah 61.8:)
Friday, 11th April
7 for 7.30pm in the Vicarage Schoolroom
Come and enjoy a light supper and a glass of wine and learn more about South Africa - including but not just Fair Trade and Traidcraft.
Last August I went to South Africa on a holiday arranged in conjunction with Traidcraft. There we visited several Fair Trade producers, as well as other development projects and places significant in the recent history of the country, such as Robben Island and District Six. Come and hear about my holiday - concentrating on the Fair trade / development angle, but to add a lighter touch including a few pictures of the more conventional touristy things - such as the wonderful Proteas at Kirstenbosch and the comical Jackass penguins on the beach near Cape Point.
Please come - sign the list in St Mary’s Church or contact me or the Parish Office, preferrably by Sunday 6th April.
No charge but I hope you will be generous in donating to Traidcraft Exchange (the charity bit of Traidcraft that looks to overcome the barriers that prevent the poor from benefiting from trade, lobbies governments for fair policies, etc.)
